Hand for Handmade

The HFH movement is working for the resurgence of the craft and handmade sector during COVID crisis and beyond. We believe that the sector can be energised through research, education, design intervention and market stimulus. The premise is, how can we continue to sustain craftspeople and the sector as a whole and give them a source of continued income in this time and the foreseeable future? How do we ideate on products with crafts from our own region, look for craft clusters who can produce and even sell it at a later stage?

This project was executed by a group of 3 students from NIFT Mumbai. My role involved brainstorming, 3D modelling and making the graphics.

Concept Note

Gifting to friends and family is one way in which we share our love with them. We have chosen festive gifting as our theme for this competition, centered around the family oriented festivals of Diwali and Christmas. We have tried to ensure that the gifts are attractive and unique, and at the same time have incorporated the sustainability element in them. The eco-friendly and reusable packaging contributes to increasing the product lifecycle. The Do-It-Yourself element in the gifts encourages involvement and interest in the crafts and craftspeople of Sawantwadi and Solapur.
